美国大学预修课程 (AP Courses)
为什么要在中学阶段学习AP课程?学习AP在申请大学时有哪些优势?
AP课程全称为Advanced Placement Program,即美国大学先修课程(或美国大学预修课程),是在高中阶段开设的、达到大学学术标准和学业水平的课程,供优秀的高中生在完成普通高中学习后选修。 学生是否能在中学修AP课程、修多少门,实质上成了一流大学判断学生是否优秀的标准。AP在判断学生是否更为优秀重要性不亚于SAT或ACT。将AP作为录取重要依据的大学包括哈佛、耶鲁、剑桥、牛津在内全球57个国家近5000所。 美国大学理事会曾进行抽样分析,1150名向耶鲁大学申请入学的学生共提交了5691门AP成绩,平均每人4.95门AP课程。今年,申请哈佛大学的学生平均有八门左右AP课程。
在中学阶段学习AP课程有以下重要作用:
· 增加GPA成绩, 平均每门AP课程成绩可增加GPA分值0.1分。而GPA恰恰是美国一流大学录取学生时的第一考虑要素。GPA是整个高中段学生综合学习能力的体现。
· 学生学习能力和未来发展潜力的最好证明。在高中就能学习大学水平课程并获得大学学分,这足以显示学生学习能力和良好的学习素养。此外,能参加几门或多门AP课程的培训教育学习并取得良好成绩预示着该学生日后更宽的学术适应和进阶能力。
· 是美国一流名校确信学生敢于挑战学术难度、明确学术发展方向的最重要指标。由于AP课程是美国大一的内容,较之中学内容,难度增加很大。因此一流大学能够轻易地从学生在中学期间是否选修AP、选修多少门当中,判断学生挑战困难的信心和能力。
· AP成绩可以直接转换大学学分,提高大学成绩。美国和加拿大绝大多数大学接受AP考试并授予大学学分。如果在中学完成一定数目的AP课程学分,不仅意味着可以提前一到两年毕业,还在大学费用上省了一笔不小的数目。 UBC有不少学生修习AP课程,以获得更好的学习成绩,还可以提前修完学分,提早毕业,或腾出时间学习更多其他课程。
· 在大学里更容易成功完成学业。 研究表明,学习AP课程的学生比没有学习AP课程的学生更容易成功完成或提前完成大学学业。

Key Responsibilities But Not Limited To
• Responsible for the bookkeeping duties of the company and its subsidiaries
• Preparing and following-up on orders and processing payments
